. . . . And now for the Grand Finale -- the Academy of Scientists!!!!!
1. You have been assigned a scientist. Research the life of your person.
- The teacher must approve your selection prior to beginning the work. No two students in the same class will have the same scientist.
- You may use dictionaries, encyclopedias, the internet, books, almanacs, etc.
- Plan your time wisely. The due dates for this project are May 4th and 5th.
2. Complete a poster about their life which contains all of the following information. (30%)
- A creative title that can be read from across the room.
- A large picture of the person. (This may be neatly drawn or printed from the internet.)
- At least three additional pictures that are related to this person’s life. (These may be neatly drawn or printed from the internet.)
- A large map with labels showing where the person lived during his or her life. (This may be neatly drawn or printed from the internet.)
- A timeline of the person’s life with at least 6 significant life events.
- Neatly printed (or typed) information about his or her parents. (25 words or more)
- Neatly printed (or typed) information about the person’s education. (25 words or more)
- Neatly printed (or typed) information about the person’s scientific work. (50 words or more)
3. Create an artifact that represents some aspect of the person’s work. (30%)
- The artifact must be hand-made by you.
- It must be something related to the scientific work of your person.
- It must be a three dimensional object, not Just A Picture.
- It must show the use of your creativity and significant effort.
4. Make a presentation dressed as the person. (40%)
- Total time should not exceed 3 minutes.
- You must have both the poster and the artifact.
- You must use the skeleton script that will be discussed in class.

Space . . . the final frontier . . .
Hi Students!!!
We have just begun our explorations of astronomy. Over the next few weeks we will learn many things about the universe, galaxies, and our solar system. To help you better understand the concepts and topics in this unit on space, I have some wonderful websites for you to examine.
